Longleaf Pine
80-120 ft. in height. Does best in well-drained, acidic, sandysoils. Most distinctive of yellow pines with its long clusteredneedles and large pine cones. It is considered a fire wisespecies showing fire resistance even in the grass stage.

This type of Longleaf is best planted south of the Georgia Fall Line.
